President's Message

Hello, and welcome to our new site.

We hope that you enjoy both the fresh new look and the enhanced resources of our recently launched website.  I would also like to share some of the exciting things that CellzDirect has been doing over the past year and is planning for in 2008. CellzDirect was launched in 2002 with a focus on providing innovative hepatic products and services to expedite the development of safe and effective drugs.  The company is led scientifically by Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Ed LeCluyse who has brought together a stellar team of scientists specializing in the field of hepatic and metabolism research.  The CellzDirect team has been able to provide the highest quality, innovative products and services through constant interaction with our customers, scientific and industry leaders, the medical community, the FDA, the EPA and through planned internal and collaborative R&D efforts. During 2007, the Company made significant investments in workforce, equipment, and space in order to support our tremendous growth.  In fact, we have doubled the number of staff at CellzDirect to over 90 employees including 13 Ph.D. level metabolism scientists, and we expanded our contract services facility in Austin, Texas.  These efforts have resulted in overall higher quality products as well as significantly faster turnaround time on our contract services, especially on induction-related studies.

This year looks to be even more exciting with our move to new corporate headquarters and cell culture laboratories near the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina and enhancement of our product and services portfolio.  In particular, we will continue to focus on producing the highest quality cryopreserved hepatocytes in the industry, which notably includes the most rigorously characterized products available.  Look for advancements this year relating to culture techniques, application-based kits, and overall cell quality as we continue to refine our products and technologies.

Through our customer-focused approach, we have earned a reputation for delivering superior human and animal hepatic cell products and in vitro services. We remain steadfast in our goal to better enable our customers to achieve their project objectives in a timely manner through unmatched customer service, enhanced characterization of our products, and optimization of our internal processes.  As always, we are dedicated to increasing the application and utility of in vitro model systems to minimize the necessity and breadth of in vivo regulatory requirements.
