Scott Edelman, Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Scott Edelman offers CellzDirect unique skills as an innovative thinker, strategic planner, and
results-oriented manager. He has successfully managed numerous small to intermediate-sized technology
companies with a variety of domestic and international distribution strategies.
Prior to CellzDirect, Mr. Edelman was president, CEO, and board member of GroupSystems.com in Tucson, Arizona, a
collaborative tools software vendor specializing in group dynamics and collaborative team decision-making. Mr. Edelman
was acting president of PictureTalk, Inc., an early entrant in web presentation services technology. He was
co-founder, CEO, and board member of Intermezzo Systems, Inc., a web-based middleware and messaging software company
for the hospitality and travel industries, and president of Hotel Information Systems, a property management software
vendor to more than 3,000 hotels and resorts worldwide. In addition, Mr. Edelman occupied senior management
positions with Integral Systems, Nixdorf Computer Corporation, and Dun & Bradstreet Computing. Mr. Edelman
graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS in business administration.

Ed LeCluyse, Ph.D. , Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Ed LeCluyse leads CellzDirect research in the in vitro hepatic area. He also contributes significantly to
hepatic cell product and assay development and CellzDirect collaborations, consulting, and scientific lectures. Dr.
LeCluyse oversees the training of all cell culture staff members, as well as the writing and implementation of the
company’s standard operating procedures.
Dr. LeCluyse completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Toxicology/ Pharmacology at the University of Kansas Medical
School under Dr. Andrew Parkinson. He served as senior research biologist at Merck & Co., Inc. and as
associate professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy from 1996 until 2004.

Holly Sparkman, Chief Financial Officer
Holly Sparkman oversees CellzDirect's financial, legal affairs, and administrative management. She specializes in cash management, audited financial reporting to investors and lenders, internal budgeting and management reporting, tax compliance and research, acquisition analysis and due diligence execution, corporate contract management, and management of professional and clerical staff.
Ms. Sparkman spent more than eight years in the public accounting arena, including a focus on corporate and
individual taxation and auditing with KPMG Peat Marwick. Ms. Sparkman's bioscience industry experience
includes seven years as the chief financial officer for CEDRA Corporation. Before CEDRA, she served as
chief financial officer for Public Strategies, Inc., an international political and public affairs consulting
firm. Ms. Sparkman graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s of business administration
degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Christopher Black, Ph.D. , VP Operations
At CellzDirect, Dr. Christopher Black manages overall operations for cell products and contract services. Dr. Black
leads the scientific teams that produce quality hepatic cell products and design and implement GLP and non-GLP
in vitro drug metabolism services in support of drug discovery and drug development. Dr. Black also
leads the company's sales program for contract research services.
Dr. Black received his doctorate from Ohio State University and completed his postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas
at Austin, focusing on drug action mechanisms. His collaboration with Professor René Levy at the University of
Washington at Seattle focused on in vitro-in vivo correlations in drug metabolism. Dr. Black was formerly
team leader for CEDRA Corporation’s Drug Metabolism division, responsible for implementing both GLP and non-GLP protocols
for CEDRA’s contract services laboratory. An expert in in vitro drug metabolism, enzyme kinetics,
in vitro-in vivo correlations and CYP450 inhibition research, Dr. Black has published 13 peer-reviewed articles
and book chapters.

Kate Gormley, Director-Human Resources
Kate Gormley has more than 20 years of experience in human resource management, including expertise in human resource compliance and employment law, recruiting and staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations and training/organizational development.
Before joining CellzDirect, Ms. Gormley was a strategic partner for GroupSystems.com and served on its board of directors. As partner with Smith-Jennings, Inc. of San Francisco, a full-service human resource consulting firm, Ms. Gormley helpes guide companies in virtually every industry through human resources issues, with a particular focus on startup companies and merger and acquisitions in the high-tech and bio-tech arenas. While executive director of human resources for American Building Maintenance Industries, Inc., she advised ABMI’s eight lines of business regarding human resources for the 35,000-employee organization. Ms. Gormley also served in director-level roles at Integral Systems, Atari, and Crocker National Bank. Ms. Gormley received her MBA from San Francisco State University and her BS in political science from the University of California, San Diego.
